Amy Tobey
As a massage therapist, I found it so important to teach people "how to breathe" which led me to my love for yoga and eventually becoming an instructor as well. My goal as a yoga teacher is to awaken in each of my students, an awareness & appreciation of where they currently are in their yoga practice, in their body and in their mind and then from that place of respect and acceptance; instructing students how to use their breath as a tool to find space, ease and expansion in each pose. This is such a gift they will cherish forever. Over the years, I've discovered that yoga is more than just exercise, it is a chance to discover ourselves on a very personal level. Its not only about flexibility in our bodies, but in our minds too. If we could just take some of that flexibility into your daily lives, we may find we lead much happier ones! I tend to teach a simple yet challenging class focused on deepening flexibility while building strength and quieting the mind. Alignment is key to keeping muscles and joints free from injury and over exertion. Amy is a licensed massage therapist, practicing since 2006 and achieved her 200hr certificate from Sacred Rivers Yoga in Glastonbury, CT. She currently resides in Wilton, CT with her husband Chris.
